Life Ways
Sustainable Life Styles

How we live determines not only the quality and outcome of our own lives, but our life also affects the lives of all future generations.

In a perfect world, life would develop in a way that living things become stronger and more adaptable. To while we have seen our own species proliferate and become more technically advanced and many people are living longer lives that they were a few hundred years ago, as a species, we are weakening and becoming more susceptible to disease.

Our longer life span in the west is due to better hygiene, an abundant food supply, better living conditions and modern medicine. But physically and intellectually we seem to be weakening and more and more dependent on medicines to survive.

Proponents of natural and organic lifestyles argue that by living in harmony with nature, we can also live longer lives as well as becoming stronger and more robust individuals.

There are many ways to live and there is a great deal of crossover in beliefs and life ways ranging from  organics, macrobiotics, vegetarianism, pacifism, yoga, tantra and Buddhism.

Buddhism
Buddhism presents real and practical solutions to understand overcome suffering and find happiness, and help to provide a perspective for sustainable life on planet Earth, read more.

Yoga
Like Buddhism, ths life style philosophy teachs how to find harmony and balance with nature.

Vegetarianism
This reflects a Buddhist attitude of not causing suffering to animals and physically requires less food animals be kept allowing more intensive agriculture to feed our growing population.

Macrobiotics
This has a philosophy of eating locally and eating to live so that by nutrition and lifestyle, even chronic diseases can be cured.
