Today
The
Israeli Palestinian Conflict.
It now seems clear that Israelis and Palestinians were once the
Canaanites of pre-biblical history and they have forgotten their origins, that they are all brothers although a great many Israelis are of
European and other origins.
We have seen over the centuries the political and religious changes with
Jewish, Christian and Islamic conflict and rule.
Today Israel is expansionist, the world largely forgetting that Gaza and
The West Bank are occupied by a foreign power and the people fighting for
their rights and every day that goes by, they seem to have less hope.
It seems that the Israeli expansion is unstoppable, they have the 5th most
powerful military force in the world as well as the backing of the USA.
It seems that The Palestinians are now holed up like rats in a sewer and
mostly powerless and one's heart breaks at this tragedy, so what hope do
these people have?
Israel wants absolute control and they are simply taking it. There is an
old saying, "If you can't beat them, join them".
If Palestine were to join with Israel, of course the Palestinians would be
3rd class citizens after the Zionist and Mizrahi Jews, but perhaps this
may be their only hope and a better solution to fighting.
I am guessing the psychology for Israels expansion is a combination fear
and perhaps a desire for revenge against anyone for the suffering of WW2.
Currently the future looks grim for Palestine. Israel will continue to
expand to consolidate Zionism and its hold in the region, and in the
longer term by provocation and manipulation be able to annex Lebanon and
more of Syria under the guise of halting terrorism.
This Israeli expansion will of course upset the Islamic world even more
but its likely that Islam itself will be further divided and less able to
stop Israel and Islamic access to the Jerusalem Mosque further restricted
and I would expect that in another 50 years Israel will rebuild its own
temple there banning Islam forever.
This will be a tragedy to the hearts of many Muslims as Jerusalem was
defined as I believe, 'as a holy place as The prophet Mohamed journeyed
there in his meditation to speak with God'. While I personally believe
that the Jerusalem of the Prophet's meditation was a place in his heart,
it will surely escalate world conflict which in turn will bring down
greater suffering and conflict.
True peace only comes when there is total forgiveness and freedom which in
today's climate seems impossible. All solutions on the table at present
are only potential respites, no one as yet has or is ever likely to arrive
at a solution for real or lasting peace.
May peace be with you.
