Jesus Christ
The Missing Years

From the history so far, Jesus with his family may have been to Egypt and returned to Nazareth by the time he was aged 10 to 15. Nothing is know of him other than that Luke tells that Jesus was found teaching in the temple by his parents after being lost at age 12.

It seems unlikely that an intelligent boy would get lost in a small town, it's more likely he was developing strong ideas about life, existence and religion; namely Judaism and so he began testing his ideas on those who would listen and likely challenged the knowledge of the priests.

After this isolated comment by Luke, Christian scholars speculate that Jesus lives and works as just another artisan/craftsman until he is about thirty years of age when he is baptised by John and his brief time on the word stage begins.

TThe Mustard Seed: Commentaries on the Fifth Gospel of Saint Thomashe Missing Years
The Jews were not the only educated people in the world, the Egyptians, Persians, Greeks, Indians and Chinese all had developed civilisations with writing, arts and sciences. I think it is highly probable that Jesus would have traveled to find the known truths of existence.

In North India and the region of Pakistan, Afghanistan and parts of modern day Iran, Vedanta had for a long time been teaching the idea of a one god and the holy trinity and the science of yoga was established with the Yoga Sutras of Patangali written around 600BC which describe how to connect with the divine.

Buddha was long dead and Buddhism well established not only in India, but also in Egypt where much earlier in 1400BC Pharaoh Akhenaton introduced the idea of the 'One God' as the state religion and I suspect that this ideology adopted by Akhenaton may have come from North India where the Indus Valley civilisation was declining due to climatic change and the people travelling afar looking for new homes.

Christian scholars disagree and have great distain for the idea that Jesus may have travelled and gained knowledge in India and Tibet, but Indian and Tibetan scholars and record keeper have no doubt in claiming Jesus spent may years there.

The Lost Years of Jesus: Documentary Evidence of Jesus' 17-Year Journey to the EastEvidence of Jesus in India
The missing years in Jesus’ life and his time in Egypt and India, learning from Egyptian secret societies, then Buddhist schools, then Hindu Vedanta are well documented in books held by the organisations he studied with and are detailed in Jesus Lived in India: His Unknown Life Before and After the Crucifixion by Holger Kersten and The Lost Years of Jesus: Documentary Evidence of Jesus' 17-Year Journey to the East by Elisabeth Clare Prophet.

When my copy of The Gnostic Gospels arrived in the post, I flicked through it and noted several references to the origins and ways to end suffering, I thought I had a Buddhist text for a while. But I will not elaborate further here on the missing years other than affirming it is most likely that Jesus would have travelled and studied in the East.
